Because they found 
prehistoric footprints

.....as the water evaporated

They were beautiful
dinosaur footprints

Scientists believe they
belonged to Sauroposeidon
proteles and Acrocanthosaurus

And I'm
acrocanthosaurus

They inhabited the area
during the Cretaceous period,
stomping on the squishy mud
of a shallow sea.

Over time, the sediment
became limestone, and 
that made the imprints

"It brings it into reality,"
said the superintendent of
the state park. 

You look at these and realize
these were animals that walked 
in this place where I'm standing today
