It was commonly accepted
that oxygen is usually produced
through photosynthesis

However, light disappears
the deeper you go
into the ocean

So, the deeper you go
the less oxygen there
should be, right?

That's what 
scientists believed

At least until now.......

However, some scientists 
measured the oxygen level 
in the deep sea since 2013
and found that they were 
continuously increasing

This research study
was published in 'Nature
geoscicence' in 22 July 
2024, titled "Evidence of
Dark Oxygen Production
at the Abyssal Seafloor"

But why? 
It was a mystery

There were giant batteries 
connected, forming a voltage
of 0.95v and electrolyzing water

The identity of batteries 
was billions of tons of 
manganese noduels.
