What is a memory?

A color that refuses to disappear.

I would've said a story that refuses to end.

Perhaps we're saying the same thing.

Some people spend their lives collecting memories.

Others spend their lives searching for meaning.

Which is more important?

Can you  separate a flower from its color?

Maybe memories are the pages.

And meaning is the picture they form together.

So a meaningful life isn't the one with the most memories.

It's the one whose memories create a beautiful picture.

Stories preserve lives.

Art teaches us how to see them.

Maybe memory is a story.

And maybe meaning is its color.
